What to discuss with the care team
- Keep the procedure date, discharge instructions and surgical-office contact available for follow-up.
- Confirm who will review the incision and when the surgical team expects the next update.
- Contact the surgeon about increasing redness or pain, new bleeding, an opening incision or changes in drainage.
- Ask the surgical team before changing dressing care, activity restrictions or products used around the incision.
