Arterial wounds occur when blood flow is inadequate. Mixed wounds may involve both arterial disease and venous swelling, which changes what treatment and compression are safe.

Tissue loss, drainage and surrounding skin
Vascular history, testing and specialist involvement

Other clinicians may be involved.

Vascular surgery, podiatry, primary care and surgery may need to be involved. Restoring or evaluating blood flow can be more urgent than local wound treatment.
