We have built our referral process to be as easy as possible for busy healthcare providers. Here is what happens when you refer a patient to Gateway Wound Care:

Step 1: Submit a Referral
Call us at (314) 804-8364, submit our online referral form, or fax a referral. Include patient demographics, wound type and location, relevant medical history, and insurance information. That is all we need to get started.

Step 2: We Handle Insurance and Scheduling
Our care coordinator verifies insurance coverage, obtains any necessary authorizations, contacts the patient or facility, and schedules the initial assessment. You do not need to handle any of the administrative work.

Step 3: Specialist Assessment
Our board-certified wound care specialist visits the patient at their home or facility within 24 to 48 hours. They perform a comprehensive wound evaluation, review medical history, photograph the wound for documentation, and develop a personalized treatment plan.

Step 4: Ongoing Treatment with Regular Reports
We provide regular wound care visits at a frequency determined by the wound's needs. After each visit, you receive a detailed clinical report including wound measurements, tissue assessment, treatment provided, healing trajectory, and any changes to the care plan.

Step 5: Discharge and Summary
When the wound has healed or care goals have been achieved, we provide a comprehensive summary report with recommendations for ongoing preventive care to reduce the risk of recurrence.
